Sonny Landreth’s “Elemental Journey” to guitar stardom

Post by springparrot »

Sonny Landreth can outplay most other guitarists with just his pinky.

Unlike most slide guitarists, the Louisiana bluesman slips his glass bottleneck on to his smallest finger. When Landreth slides his left hand down the neck, the glistening notes sound like gold shavings peeled from his guitar strings. No wonder Landreth, 61, is widely regarded as one of the greatest slide guitarists of all with a uniquely identifiable guitar voice.
