Congratulations to Mac McAnally for CMA nomination

Mac McAnally has been nominated for CMA's Musician of the Year! Mac has been the reigning CMA Musician of the Year for the past four years. Voted on by CMA members, the 46th CMA Awards will air on Thursday, November 1st at 8pmET. Congratulations Mac!

Anybody know what song or songs it is for? I don't follow the awards all tha much so I don't know how they go about picking people.

It's an award voted on by CMA peers and isn't song specific, rather a base of the work done during the previous year.
It is also instrument based (Mac is in for his guitar work).

This Award is for a musician known primarily as an instrumental performer.
In order to qualify, a musician must have played on at least one album or single

or Country Aircheck Chart during the eligibility period. Award to musician.

Out of curiosity, I wonder which chart-toppers he's been playing for? I guess Songs from St Somewhere would qualify for this year, but what about the previous 5? Is that info out there somewhere?
