If you have a Mac, Handbrake works wonders. If you have a Windows PC, you can use the freeware Any Video Converter Free or Free Studio or you can use the Shareware (and my Favorite) Xilisoft Video Converter.

I can't thank you enough!!

Um, I hate to mention it... but I downloaded this yesterday and the audio seems to be lagging way behind the video. It gets closer together as you progress thru the video, but it never does catch up.

I checked my 7/17 & 7/19 concert downloads from you - which I have stored in the same location - and they seem fine. I downloaded JB@JB twice from 2 different locations and both have the identical problem, so I don't think it's anything happening during the download. Is it just me?

Sorry to be a pain...but I really do appreciate you posting these!

Just a thought but you might want to check and see if you have the correct audio codec installed

If you are able to see and hear the video, your codecs are fine. This show was captured a bit differently than previous shows due to the way youtube archives the video. Previous shows were archived for a short time (maybe a couple hours) after it ended, so they could actually be downloaded. You can see that effect if you are watching a live video and are able to roll back the timeline and re-watch the earlier part.

This show was a one-shot chance of capture without the archiving from youtube. This show could not be rolled back on the timeline, so if the live capture did not work, there was no second chance to get it.

I opened it up using Windows Media Player and the audio and video were waaaay off from each other. I opened it in a different player (VLC Media Player) and they synced up perfectly.

Twice now I've watched the HD video stream from Margaritaville.tv
on my big screen TV via ChromeCast. Nice picture quality but
the sound isn't the best, so I listen to the Sirius/XM broadcast
on my sound system during the live show. Radio Margaritaville
on Sirius/XM is always about 8-10 seconds ahead of the video stream,
no big deal to me.

That's also how I watch Redskins football. Radio broadcast for audio
and the TV broadcast for video. Also not in sync.
I hear the play before I see the play.
Somewhat annoying but I much prefer the local radio team
over the TV network broadcast team.

I have gotten used to this method.

Holy Cow! Thanx, Funky - I tried another video player (Applian FLV) and had the same results - everything synced up fine!

I always knew Windows Media Player was a bit lame, but wow! Funny how it played the other 2 shows that I had previously downloaded just fine. The difference in the recording method used (as so eloquently explained by urlcenter & Sunlover above) must've been the difference - as different codecs were probably used in the 'new' recording method. I'm a tech guy by trade, but I have to admint I'm not very familiar at all with how this video stuff works.

Fortunately, there's no video camera now, so you can't see the happy dance I'm doing!

During the past couple shows, I have used the audio from Marg TV for the mp3 files since it seemed to be better than the RM satellite feed. There were several dropouts during the RM feed, but the Marg TV feed seemed more stable. When I'm monitoring RM on satellite and Marg TV, there is about 30 seconds difference between the two (RM is earlier). Kinda boggles the ears with RM on my right and Marg TV on my left!

Sorry about the issues that have arisen for you. I fix them as far as I can they always play back fine on my end. The latest shows have been one shot deals compared to the others. When they are one take, you are more prone to issues that will arise compared to when it's on the seekable timeline. I have specialized software used for various forms of encoding and, I've been down to one program the past few shows with the non-seekable timeline. I luckily now have another program to add to my list. Again, I am sorry about the issue that have arisen.
